People Operations & Talent Acquisition Manager
VHCM | Gainesville/Newberry, FL | Hybrid | Full-time.
Salary commensurate with experience + benefits.

VHCM supports two growing veterinary organizations:

Community Care Veterinary Specialists , a specialty and emergency hospital, and Newberry Animal Hospital Group , a 4-location general practice. We're hiring our first dedicated people leader to build HR and recruiting across both.

This role is about 55% recruiting and 45% HR, and reports directly to the COO. There's no big HR department to inherit. You'll build the systems.

What you'll do:

• Own full-cycle recruiting across both organizations, including DVMs.
• Build pipelines through vet schools, tech programs, referrals, and externships.
• Standardize our hiring workflow and applicant tracking system.
• Update policies and the employee manual, and support compliance (FMLA, ADA, workers' comp).
• Set the performance review cadence and lead the annual comp review.

What you bring:

• 4+ years in talent acquisition or full-cycle recruiting.
• Experience building programs or supervising others.
• Working knowledge of employment law and payroll.
• Strong organization. You'll juggle open roles across 5 locations.
• SHRM certification and veterinary or healthcare experience are a plus
