About the Role

Brey-Krause Mfg. is looking for an experienced Tool and Die Maker to join our machine shop and stamping operation. This person will take ownership of our die inventory, build and maintain the tooling our production lines depend on, and lend hands-on support to our CNC and machine shop operations. What You'll Do

• Manage and maintain our full inventory of dies, including tracking condition, scheduling repairs, and organizing storage
• Design, build, modify, and repair tooling, fixtures, jigs, and dies to support production needs
• Diagnose and troubleshoot tooling issues, making adjustments or repairs to minimize downtime
• Assist with setup, operation, and troubleshooting of CNC machines
• Support day-to-day machine shop operations, including general machining tasks as needed
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to fabricate precision parts and tooling
• Use precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.) to verify tolerances
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to identify tooling improvements and reduce downtime
• Maintain accurate records of die maintenance, repairs, and tooling changes
• Follow all safety procedures and keep the work area organized and safe

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of experience as a tool and die maker or in a comparable precision tooling/machining role
• Strong understanding of die construction, repair, and maintenance
• Working knowledge of CNC machine operation and setup (mills, lathes, WaterJets, plus)
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools and quality inspection methods
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities across multiple jobs
• Good communication skills and a team-first attitude
• High school diploma or equivalent required; formal tool and die apprenticeship or technical training preferred
